This policy explains what personal data we collect through electricly.my and our workshop operations, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) and its general principles.
1. Data we collect
We keep collection deliberately narrow. Depending on how you interact with us, we may hold:
- Enquiry details — your name, email address, phone number and the project description you submit through our contact form, by email, or over the phone.
- Commission records — site addresses, measurements, drawings and payment records connected to a confirmed project.
- Basic technical data — server logs recording IP addresses and pages requested, kept for security and troubleshooting.
We do not ask for, and please do not send us, sensitive personal data such as health information or identity card numbers — none of our services require them.
2. Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare quotations you have requested.
- To perform a contract: scheduling site visits, fabrication, delivery, installation and warranty service.
- To meet legal obligations, including tax and accounting record-keeping under Malaysian law.
- To protect the website against abuse and to diagnose technical faults.
We do not sell personal data, run advertising networks on this site, or send marketing emails to people who have merely enquired.
3. Who sees your data
Within the studio, only staff who need your details to serve you have access. Outside the studio, data is shared only with: delivery partners (name, address, phone for a scheduled delivery), professional advisers such as our accountants where the law requires records, and authorities where disclosure is legally mandated. Any third party receiving data is engaged under obligations of confidentiality.
4. How long we keep it
Enquiry records that do not become projects are deleted within 24 months. Commission records are retained for seven years to honour warranty commitments and satisfy statutory record-keeping, after which they are securely destroyed.
5. Security
Data is stored on access-controlled systems, transmitted over encrypted connections, and backed up securely. Paper drawings and site notes are kept in locked storage at our premises and shredded at end of retention.
6. Your rights
Under the PDPA you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent to further processing (which may limit our ability to serve you). Write to [email protected] or post to the address below; we respond within 21 days.
7. Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies and similar storage, described separately in our Cookie Policy.
8. Changes to this policy
If our practices change we will revise this page and update the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing clients will be notified by email.
